create your own winter wonderland!
Only two weeks from Christmas and no snow to speak of. In fact, it’s wet and almost 50 degrees today! The kids are desperately hoping for snow so they can celebrate winter in true style - sledding, snow forts and all that stuff
Plus, there’s nothing like fresh snow to enhance the season and those cups of hot chocolate. The three oldest took it upon themselves (as part of Art, of course!) to make some snowflake magic all their own inside the house.
Other things on the agenda today included math, reading, read aloud, piano/violin, chores, “applied kitchen science” (aka learn how to make your own lunch) and of course, the ever popular fort building, although Bythebook opted to hone her typing skills instead. An escapade outside without having to get all bundled up will top the list of fun activities as well.
I love the snowflakes!!! We may do that too. We also have fort building here on a daily basis. I saw the afghan that is white, pink, & green and it brought back some lovely childhood memories. In our Catholic School there was a drawing for one of those and my good friend won it. I saw it everytime I was over there, which was a LOT during my childhood and even into adulthood. Thank you for the memory
Your welcome Kris! One of my college friends made it for one of my kids. She has knit or crocheted a blanket for each of my kids as they’ve been born. My 8 yr old still sleeps with hers! A special gift…
Oh my gosh, your girls have your old bedspreads. I remember because I too had those same spreads, except mine had the cannopy. I remember too well falling off your bunk bed. My kids are also getting ansy for snow. Unfortunately Illinois does not get much snow. I miss that. We will have to do your snowflake day. They will love it.
